LAS VEGAS
(February 13, 2008) – The gaming industry’s premier technology conference, Gaming Technology Summit, is set for its sixth renewal May 20-22, 2008, at Green Valley Ranch here.
The Summit addresses real-world technology challenges and solutions for all segments of the gaming industry. It annually attracts leading experts from around the world – some 500 technology professionals and vendors from the United States, Canada, Argentina, Austria, Colombia, Mexico, Portugal and Spain attended last year’s conference.
Keynote speakers at this year’s Summit are Tom Peck, Senior Vice President and Chief Information Officer for MGM Mirage and Tim Stanley, Chief Information Officer and Senior Vice President of Innovation, Gaming & Technology for Harrah’s Entertainment, Inc.
An exciting new feature of this year’s Summit is the Resort Technology Forum, a workshop featuring professors from Cornell University’s Hotel School, the world’s leading school for the hospitality industry. The half-day seminar on May 20, prior to the official start of Gaming Technology Summit, will examine recent developments in hotel room technologies and what lies in store for the future.
“The gaming industry is not just about gambling,” said Saverio R. Scheri III, Managing Director at WhiteSand Consulting, co-producer of the Summit along with BNP Media. “Casino resorts of all sizes have to cater to sophisticated leisure and business travelers using a variety of portable technologies, and their hotel room offerings must fit the needs of increasingly demanding customers. We are thrilled to partner with Cornell University for this important seminar, and think it’s an excellent added attraction for Summit attendees.”
A special bonus at GTS 2008 is the presentation of the first Technology Achievement Award to Peter DeRaedt, President of the Gaming Standards Association, which under his leadership is moving towards fulfilling its strategic mandate to facilitate innovation and efficiencies on the gaming floor.
The complete conference program, registration and travel information is available at www.gametechsummit.com.
With the proven ability of the Summit to reach leading technology professionals, vendors have a unique opportunity to reach key customers through exhibit booths and sponsorships. Any company interested in being a part of GTS should contact BNP Media’s Lesley Grashow, (203) 938-2782 or grashowl@bnpmedia.com.
The Summit is co-produced by WhiteSand Consulting, which provides strategy, operations and technology consulting services to the gaming and hospitality industries; and BNP Media Gaming Group, the leading producer of trade magazines, newsletters and trade shows serving the gaming industry around the world.
