| Peter Deraedt Among Award Winners At Gaming Technology Summit | |||
LAS VEGAS (April 30, 2008) – A special awards ceremony is one of the highlights of the sixth annual Gaming Technology Summit, scheduled for May 20-22 at Green Valley Ranch here. The industry’s premier technology conference, the Summit will honor Peter DeRaedt, President of the Gaming Standards Association, with the first Technology Achievement Award. In addition, the ceremony includes presentations to the top award winners in Casino Journal’s annual Most Innovative Gaming Technology Products Awards. “There is no end to the technological innovation in the gaming industry, and we are pleased to honor the best of the best at the Summit,” said Charles Anderer, Senior Events Manager, Gaming, for BNP Media, co-producer of the Summit along with WhiteSand Consulting. “We are especially honored to present the first Technology Achievement Award to Peter DeRaedt, as he has dedicated his career to the effort to create open standards for the industry.” DeRaedt, a 22-year veteran of the gaming industry, is being honored for his extraordinary leadership of the GSA, which is moving towards fulfilling its strategic mandate to help create innovation and efficiencies on the gaming floor. An international trade association that creates benefits for gaming manufacturers, suppliers, operators and regulators, GSA facilitates the identification, definition, development, promotion, and implementation of open standards to enable innovation, education, and communication for the benefit of the entire industry. The Technology Achievement Award will be presented during a luncheon at the Summit on May 22, along with the top three vote-getters in Casino Journal’s 11 th annual Most Innovative Gaming Technology Products Awards. More than 70 entrants were evaluated for this prestigious competition, and 20 were selected as the most innovative products in the industry. Attendees at the Summit will vote on their favorite of these cutting-edge products and services, and the top three will be honored with platinum, gold and silver medals at the ceremony. They will also be featured in the August issue of Casino Journal. Gaming Technology Summit features nearly 30 in-depth seminars and two keynote presentations, all addressing real-world technology challenges and solutions for all segments of the gaming industry. It annually attracts leading experts from around the world – some 500 technology professionals and vendors from the United States, Canada, Argentina, Austria, Colombia, Mexico, Portugal and Spain attended last year’s conference.
