Keynote speakers set for Gaming Technology Summit
LAS VEGAS (May 12, 2010) – Three notable speakers will headline the eighth annual Gaming Technology Summit, May 25-26 at the Green Valley Ranch here. Making keynote presentations will be Oscar B. Goodman, Mayor of the City of Las Vegas; Rich Schneider, Executive Vice President, Network Systems for IGT; and Jonathan Seigle, Vice President of the Casino and Resort Division of MICROS Systems, Inc.
“We are pleased to offer a diverse group of keynote speakers this year, including the Mayor of Las Vegas, a city where so many technology standards and hot trends for the gaming industry are developed,” said Saverio R. Scheri III, Managing Director at WhiteSand Gaming, co-producer of the Summit along with BNP Media. “Schneider and Seigle represent the gaming and resort sides of the business, respectively, and both are critical components of today’s casino industry.”
Opening the Summit at 9:00 a.m. on May 25 will be Mayor Goodman, who is serving his third four-year term as the city’s chief executive, having been reelected in 2007 with 84 percent of the vote. He has an excellent perspective of what drives people to visit Las Vegas and why the guest experience is critical to a casino resort’s performance.
Seigle will be the luncheon keynote speaker on May 25. MICROS Systems, Inc. specializes in information technology solutions for the hospitality and specialty retail industries, and Seigle’s position gives him first-hand knowledge of the latest trends in non-gaming technology and how they are being deployed in today’s casino resort. With revenue from non-gaming profit centers outpacing casino revenues, it’s essential to have the right technology in place to maximize efficiency.
On May 26, Schneider will provide the keynote address during a luncheon which also features the announcement of Casino Journal’s Top 20 Most Innovative Gaming Technology Products Awards. Schneider is known for his forward-thinking expertise in the systems world, and will take attendees on a journey through the power of open, the impact it has made at Aria at CityCenter and the tools properties can use to tap into the benefits of server-based gaming today.
The three keynotes head a roster of more than 50 speakers already confirmed for the Summit, which offers a total of 30 information-packed conference sessions and keynote presentations during its two-day run. In addition, presenting sponsor Gaming Standards Association will offer a workshop on May 24 that is open to all Summit attendees.
