Gaming Technology Summit Explores Latest and Greatest Technologies
LAS VEGAS (April 6, 2010) – The eighth annual Gaming Technology Summit, the gaming industry’s leading technology conference, is set for May 25-26 at the Green Valley Ranch here. Since its inception in 2003, the Summit has showcased up-and-coming technologies before they became widely accepted in the gaming industry, such as server-based gaming, mobile gaming and online gaming.
“In many cases, you saw them here first,” said Saverio R. Scheri III, Managing Director at WhiteSand Consulting, co-producer of the Summit along with BNP Media. “We continue that tradition with our conference program this year, which contains some exciting new sessions.”
One of the hot topics continues to be mobile technologies, which are being implemented on both the gaming and resort sides of the industry. For example, smart phones and related devices provide near-endless opportunities for casino/resort operations to facilitate business and customer development while keeping costs down.
Social networking is another cutting-edge technology that is being adopted on a more widespread basis by the gaming industry. GTS sessions will explore these tools from a different perspective than might be found elsewhere.
In all, the Summit offers 30 information-packed conference sessions and keynote presentations during its two-day run. As an added bonus, the Summit’s presenting sponsor Gaming Standards Association will offer a workshop on May 24 that is open to all Summit attendees. The workshop includes an open meeting of GSA’s Operator’s Advisory Committee and will explore the impact of technical innovation on the casino industry. GSA, an industry trade group which facilitates the development and implementation of open standards that pave the way for industry growth, is also presenting an entire track of regular Summit conference sessions.
Gaming Technology Summit annually attracts the best in the business from around the world – hundreds of technology professionals and vendors from 31 U.S. states, five Canadian provinces, Mexico, China and Europe attended last year’s event.
