Resort Management Forum Featured at Gaming Technology Summit

LAS VEGAS (May 7, 2009) – Gaming Technology Summit is pleased to continue its partnership with the Center for Hospitality Research at Cornell University’s School of Hotel Administration, the world’s leading school for the hospitality industry. The Resort Management Forum will be held on May 19, prior to the official start of the Summit, which continues through May 21 at the Green Valley Ranch in Las Vegas.

“The resort side of the gaming industry continues to take on more importance as consumers seek a complete experience of hospitality, gaming, spa, retail and entertainment,” said Saverio R. Scheri III, Managing Director at WhiteSand Consulting, co-producer of the Summit along with BNP Media. “And with the economic recovery still far off in our future, properties are looking for new strategies to meet revenue and occupancy targets now.”

The Resort Management Forum is designed to explore important issues that resorts of all types are facing and how they can use technology to address those issues. While revenues are down across the board, overdevelopment and expensive debt have been the downfall of many gaming and hospitality companies. Yet surviving companies are still operating and must do so in an unpredictable environment. The Resort Management Forum will discuss the various philosophies of yield management, while also examining the software and technology in use today.

Forum speakers include Chris Anderson, Associate Professor at Cornell’s School of Hotel Administration, Tammy Farley, a principal with The Rainmaker Group, Saverio R. Scheri, Managing Director of WhiteSand Consulting and Kyle Reardon, a Senior Consultant with WhiteSand Consulting.

Following the Forum, the Summit offers two full days of in-depth sessions as the gaming industry’s premier technology conference. More than 60 industry experts will be speaking on a variety of topics, including timely new sessions and returning favorites. The speaker roster is led by keynote speakers Greg Shay, President and Chief Executive Officer of VCAT LLC, Ramesh Srinivasan, Executive Vice President of Systems for Bally Technologies, Inc. and Tim Stanley, President and Founder of Tekexecs.
