GLI receives ISO accreditation for lab, field testing
Gaming Laboratories International (GLI) recently announced that the company has become the first—and only—private gaming test laboratory to be granted ISO 17020 and 17025 accreditations in the United States by the American Association for Laboratory Accreditation.

“This is important for GLI because it means we are always striving to be better and to enhance our performance by developing new ways of doing things,” said GLI President and Co-founder James R. Maida in a press release. “Since its inception GLI has gone above and beyond to provide the highest level of service to its customers. Earning these accreditations means that GLI can take its services to a whole other level of expertise by continuing to offer its customers accuracy and integrity.”

The ISO 17020 accreditation was awarded for meeting proper field inspection requirements, while the ISO 17025 accreditation reflects proper lab requirements.

The International Organization for Standardization (ISO) institutes standards for governments and private sector firms worldwide to ensure quality performance, dependability and equity in their operations. A2LA is the largest multi-discipline accreditation body in the United States and the second largest in the world. It provides comprehensive accreditation services for labs, inspection bodies, proficiency testing providers and reference material producers.

In the United States, GLI operates wholly-owned and fully-staffed gaming test laboratories in Lakewood, N.J., Golden, Colo. and Las Vegas, Nev. Elsewhere in the world are operating GLI Europe, B.V. in Hillegom, The Netherlands; GLI Africa in Pretoria, South Africa; GLI Italia in Bologna, Italy and GLI Asia in Macau, China. Gaming Laboratories Australia operates fully accredited test labs in Sydney and Adelaide under license to GLI. Employees number about 400 worldwide, providing more than 125,000 certifications per year to over 400 gaming regulatory bodies. GLI was founded in 1989 by James R. Maida and Paul J. Magno.
