Dover Downs Hotel & Casino recently
announced the launch of FunPlay, a suite of casino-style games—with
no real money ever wagered—playable for free to anyone visiting the
property’s Web site,
www.doverdowns.com.
“This is the year of the Internet for
us,” said Dover Downs Chief Operating Officer Ed Sutor. “FunPlay is
an exciting new way for players to learn how to play slots and other
games at home, or to simply enjoy them for free anytime and as often
as they choose.”
Waltham, Mass.-based GameLogic
provides the FunPlay system using the company’s Virtual Play™
platform. The multi-channel platform offers various
regulatory-compliant, multimedia features for casino and lotteries.
“According to the New York Times,
more than 65 million Americans are playing games regularly on the
Internet,” said GameLogic CEO Steven N. Kane. “And thoughtful
lotteries and casinos like Dover Downs Hotel & Casino are
recognizing the importance of extending their brands and
relationships beyond the four walls of the casino, and of answering
the overwhelming desire of their patrons for safe, secure Internet
entertainment.”
Dover Downs’ version of FunPlay works
with both dial-up and broadband Internet connections. When users
click on the site’s FunPlay link, they are invited to enter their
player’s card number, pre-register for an account or play as a
guest. Accounts would need to be activated at the property,
thereafter allowing members to earn rewards redeemable for hotel
rooms, comped food, show tickets and other items.
The FunPlay system features table
games like blackjack, craps and roulette; video poker, including
Deuces Wild and Tens or Better; slots like Fountains of Cash,
Pyramid Payout and Lucky Lady Liberty; and other games.
