PokerTek gets GLI certification for new system
PokerTek Inc., the Charlotte, N.C.-based provider of the PokerPro electronic poker table, announced in December that its latest version—the PokerPro Heads-Up gaming system—received certification from Gaming Laboratories International.

PokerTek touts the PokerPro Heads-Up system as the world’s first automated two-seat poker table. The system uses only 20 percent of the gaming floor space a traditional table game, and deals more hands per hour than any other table. PokerTek said the system “has been designed to overcome some of the inherent inefficiencies in dealing heads-up poker at traditional tables,” allowing casinos to offer the game in a more profitable manner.

Under the new GLI certification the system has met the following standards: GLI 13 Online Monitoring and Control Systems (MCS) and Validation Systems; GLI 16 Cashless Systems in Casinos; GLI 24 Electronic Table Game System; and applicable sections of GLI 11 Gaming Devices in Casinos.

“The PokerPro Heads-Up table is the first of its kind to hit the industry,” said James Crawford, president of PokerTek. “This new GLI certification allows us to continue providing casino operators and players with the newest poker innovations.”

PokerTek’s original flagship product, the 10-seat PokerPro electronic table system, was GLI certified in October.
