Last week MobileAccess Networks
announced that Peppermill Casinos Inc. deployed the MobileAccess
Universal Wireless Network at the Peppermill Hotel & Casino in Reno,
Nev.
“We are committed to providing our
guests with the highest level of luxury and convenience,” said Bill
Hughes, director of marketing operations at Peppermill Hotel Casino.
“Central to this mission is ensuring they can use the latest
wireless technology as easily and reliably inside our world-class
facility as they have come to expect outside.”
The network solution enhances
wireless communication throughout the facility’s three main
buildings, creating reliable, uninterrupted coverage for SpectraLink
wireless telephony, public WLAN and cell phone services from
Cingular, Sprint and Verizon Wireless. Hughes said the service would
enhance guest experiences and “by improving our own internal
communications, it enables our staff to offer the highest level of
service and security.”
All of the property’s wireless
services and applications will be delivered over a single wireless
infrastructure, which is expected to be more cost-effective than
deploying multiple parallel systems. Additionally, the modular
packaging of the network allows for easier and more cost-effective
expansion—a key benefit for Peppermill, which will be expanding the
network into its new $300 million hotel scheduled to open in
mid-2007.
Aesthetics and ease of management
will be boosted as well, as all managed equipment—including Cisco
WLAN Access Points—will be housed in secure telecommunications
closets.
“With their installation of the
MobileAccess Universal Wireless Network, Peppermill Hotel Casino is
setting a new standard for wireless connectivity in large-scale
entertainment complexes,” said Cathy Zatloukal, president and chief
executive officer of MobileAccess. “In premier facilities like
Peppermill, wireless access is more than nice to have; it’s a
must-have for guests and staff…And with the adaptability of the
MobileAccess solution, Peppermill can evolve their wireless
infrastructure dynamically, without disrupting the communication
experience of their guests and staff.”
