  Planet Bingo acquires Melange
Rancho Mirage, Calif.-based Planet Bingo™ announced that it has acquired Lansing, Mich.-based Melange. While financial terms of the deal were undisclosed, Planet Bingo, in a release, noted Melange’s expertise as a leading accounting software, non-traditional bingo games, and color touchscreen electronics company. Melange is known for its flagship products, The EPIC System and Super Games.

The acquisition will combine the staff, products, research and development and additional resources of both companies. The deal also gives Melange an opportunity to advance its ability to bring electronic gaming to the market.

“Integration and security is the key to the gaming industry,” said Rick White, president and CEO of Planet Bingo. “By combining the two leading bingo solution providers, Planet Bingo and Melange, we will create an extraordinarily powerful product line for our customers.”

Melange’s vice president and co-founder, Jim Green, said the deal was a winning move for his company as well.

“Our goal has always been to provide the most secure and feature-full bingo accounting software package to our customers,” he said. “We can’t think of a better way to achieve this goal than to partner with Planet Bingo and integrate our product offerings.

Melange was founded in 1989, and its bingo hall accounting and management system is used to track inventory and cash, as well as give bingo operators a vehicle to offer players clubs. Melange also provides paper and electronic bingo games.
